350 km west of Paris, Rennes is the capital of Brittany. With more than 425 000 residents, Rennes Metropole is one of the leading centres of development and influence in north west of France. Rennes is easily accessible, only one hour by plane and 2 hours away from Paris by high-speed train (TGV), and at the heart of a network of first-class railway lines and motorways. The Faculty of Sports Science is one of the 5 faculties in the University of Rennes 2. VIP&S team focuses on the analysis of sports and physical activities around two main objectives: a) report of the causes of the phenomenon of sports violence; b) launch a discussion on the virtues of the use of sport as a pillar of identity construction or maintenance of social bonds.
